If you are in the field of cognitive therapy, and have your own Web site, consider linking to this page.
Cognitive therapy is a form of therapy, and indeed a form of self-therapy, that is becoming increasingly popular. The reasons for this are compelling—cognitive therapy takes less time, solves problems more directly, and is less invasive into feelings and past issues than conventional therapies.
Cognitive therapy assumes that all humans have a propensity for thinking in distorted, irrational ways at times. The resulting distorted beliefs and irrational thought lead to muddled thinking, and behavior over which we feel we have little control. The truth behind cognitive therapy is that with some introspection and replaced self-talk, we can have happier, more fulfilling lives, regardless of our politics, political persuasion, occupation, or any other category in which we might fall. Cognitive therapy, if done correctly, leads to wisdom.
A number of books have been written about cognitive therapy in the past few years. Some of those books are more general guidelines that teach the reader how to apply cognitive therapy in any area of his or her life; others target specific human problems such as addiction or failed relationships. The book, How to Survive Your Diet and Conquer Your Food Issues Forever by Linda Moran is just such a book.
View How to Survive Your Diet on Amazon.com. Moran also writes a newsletter for Diet Survivors, which serves as a companion to the book.
How to Survive Your Diet is endorsed by Dr. Michael R. Edelstein, one of our nation's leading cognitive therapists. Dr. Michael R. Edelstein is the author of Three Minute Therapy. View Dr. Edelstein's endorsement of How to Survive Your Diet.
