RSS feeds for Movable Type 3.2 by category
Have you set up categories in Movable Type, but now you want to offer your feeds based on category? Here's the solution for MT 3.2

- Click on templates
- You should already be in the index templates. If not, click index templates
- Click on the RSS 2.0 index (index.xml)
- Select, then copy the code you find inside the Template Body window.
- Return to the templates page
- Click on the archives tab
- Click on create new archive template
- Give the template a name (I'll use Category RSS) as my name. Paste the code from your RSS template into the Template Body window, and click on save.
- Go to settings, then click publishing, then scroll down to archive mapping, then click create new archive mapping. In the window, choose Category for the archive type and Category RSS for the template. Click Add. You will now have a new category archive
- Look at the bottom of the page you're already on. In the window for the new category archive that we called "Category RSS," click on Custom. Set the name of the archive to categories/<$MTArchiveCategory dirify= 1 $>/index.xml
- Click on save changes. Rebuild your site.
- Look on your server to verify that the index.xml files have been created for each category.
- For each index.xml file, in each category on your server, copy the entire path, then paste it somewhere, and change the server path to a URL. You now have your feed URL.
